Linda Edna Cardellini was born in Redwood City, California, to Lorraine (Hernan) and Wayne David Cardellini who is a businessman. James later played the the Countess Natasha Rostova on the TV version of War & Peace in 2016. She has also starred in numerous films such as Baby Driver (2017) and period dramas Darkest Hour (2017) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society 2018. She also appeared in The Dig 2021, as and musicals Mamma Mia! We Go Back Again (2018), and Yesterday (2019). The actress was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award in 2022 to play Pamela Anderson, the star of Pam & Tommy.
