Anna was raised by her brother Michael who was an actor, and then an actor. Anna Kendrick began auditioning to Broadway plays as a teenager at Deering High School in Portland. When she was just 12 her first big theater performance was High Society. Although she was a child, her performance received numerous nominations and awards. She was a part-time actor in A Little Night Music from 2003 until 2004. She made her film debut at Camp in that same year, age 15 years old. Kendrick received nominations for her performance as well as Rocket Science 2007.
